Wastefall is a Greek metal band from Athens and the "Soul Rain 21" is their second release. The band travels through different fields in the metal sector, sometimes it sounds progressive with a great similarity to Pain Of Salvation, and sometimes more nu metal with heavy riff bursts. What I liked the most in "Soul Rain 21" is the main issue the band has worked on. The concept of the album is the unique tragedy that Greece met the previous year and it is no other than the brutal accident at Tempi with 21 casualties, all of them kids. The band offers to the listener the appropriate atmosphere so as to perceive how serious the whole situation is and to start seeing things from another perspective, that we really need to change some things in Greece for the sake of everyone and especially the young members of the Greek community. The album consists of good songs, the lyrics are most of them based on the concept in which I referred to, the production is quite good and the band make us have great expectations for Wastefall in the future.
