…Or you could describe it as a critical strike right to our musical vital point. Threshold has done it again! They delivered another masterpiece, just like they have been doing all these years, with one exception of course, as far as I am concerned. You may think I am exaggerating, since it is a live cd and all, but there are three important reasons that make this an absolute must for any metal fan.

First of all, it is a great live in terms of production and performance. In addition, it contains the top moments of the band and provides a good opportunity to those who don't know a lot about Threshold to discover their music. Finally, another serious reason is that this is the most important progressive metal band at the time, together with Dream Theater and Pain of Salvation. And now we've come to the point where I have to explain myself. The album begins, like the previous studio album "Critical Mass", with the amazing "Phenomenon" and it is right from the very start, that you can realize the excellence in production and performance: solid and almost infallible play, with an extremely balanced sound, so that every instrument is audible with none of them being muffled. It is apparent that, since we're dealing with the band's anthems, characterizing the songs one by one is unnecessary (most of you already know this; the rest, take my word for it!). Therefore, I don't have to describe separately every single aspect of the compositions, or explain the performance of each member, like I would normally do with a new studio album. There is something, though, that I must draw your attention to: the extraordinarily clear, powerful and inspiring voice of Mac, who is one of the greatest power metal singers worldwide at the moment. He really elevates the songs and the band.

Coming to an end, I should mention that the choice of the songs, as well as the way they have been ordered is not tiresome at all. Keep in mind, before buying the 2cd, that it is also available on dvd, as well as a package containing both the dvd and the 2cd which is the one I highly recommend, regardless of the cost. Ignoring it is out of the question!
