Sorrow's
Path are known to the Greek audience,
but I doubt it if they have reached
a wider one. I think that they are
known to the "suspected"
doom metal fans, but heir absence
for a long period might have cost
them the touch with younger fans.
Eat Metal made a critical step with
this release as its primal form is
to preserve a respectable chapter
of the Greek underground scene and
to bring to attention to all of us.
Moreover Eat Metal offers a home to
this unlucky band now that has returned
for good. The recent support show
with Solitude Aeturnus proved that
the band is in good shape and capable
of bridging the gap. In short this
band includes the both unofficial
releases of the band that took place
in mid nineties. You will find some
fine tracks of traditional doom metal
in the vein of Candlemass and Solitude
Aeturnus, while their melodic lines
will show you links with While Heaven
Wept and Isole. "Resurrection"
has a very good booklet with linear
and historical notes, while the result
at the production is quire improved
from the initial.
I am looking forward
to get a new piece from this hard-working
and persistent band. The signs they
show us are very promising and I think
that in the near future we will have
more to discuss. I strongly advise
you to get this release and I hope
that more people in Greece will take
seriously the example of their label
and will contribute to the preservation
and promotion of the numerous Greek
underground metal gems. |
