"Tragedy of Innocence" is the second full length album of this progressive metal outfit. Within the ranks of Prymary there are previous and active members of the head-ship of American progressive metal, Redemption, and this is quite positive for start.

But Prymary have only but a few common elements with Redemption. I would say that they are close to Fates Warning and Leviathan (the legendary progsters of course) and this is mainly due to the dark and depressive atmosphere of their music. You see, "Tragedy of Innocence" is a concept album, dealing with a real story of child abuse and this makes a really heavy atmosphere. However the band has complex moments too, where they demonstrate their high musicianship. Those parts may remind you a little bit of Dream Theater, so I guess that in the end the formula is very attractive. The good thing is that the band has a balanced approach towards the "simple" parts, which in their majority are very melodic, and the complex ones. If you add the fact that the story and its narration, which is based on a timeline (from past to present), dictates some personal elements, then you will find yourselves listening to an album that may not be "unique", yet is relieved from the burden of its influences. I must admit that Mike Di Sarro, vocalist, won me from the very first time, as he is gifted with a very beautiful voice, which he handles it in an exceptional way. On the other hand I have to make a small criticism on the band's choice to produce the album all by themselves. I think that the final result is not the desired one.

I truly believe that with this release, Prymary, make a big step. It is a release you can buy fearlessly. For me, Prymary, are ready to join forces with other American progressive metal bands, such as Redemption, Ion Vein, Cea Serin and so on and form a scene that we will mention in the near future.
