Sometimes a surprise comes and knocks your door and you remain with the mouth open. This was my first thought when I received the new album from Memorain, a Greek thrash metal band, which they release their third album so far. It is firstly a surprise (and of course all the congratulations to the band) because they have a new label. They left NMC and now they are in the ranks of EMI.

A huge step forward for the band and I am sure with their new label will have the maximum help in order to promote their stuff. Except that, Memorain, who are one of the best thrash metal bands in Greece, have in their ranks the mighty Nick Menza (ex. Megadeth) and believe me this guy had forwarded the music of Memorain to another level. Besides that, Mr. Annihilator, Jeff Waters stopped and performed an incredible solo in the "TV War" song.

Do you need more elements in order to realize that the new album of Memorain will blast your head and that you will do endlessly head banging? Maybe some of you don’t know Memorain. I believe that the main man of this band, Ilias Papadakis, with this hard work has achieved to make their personal sound. When you hear something from Memorain, you will understand it.

Definitely they have some influences from Megadeth, but above all, they have found their personal sound from their second release. In their debut album the weakest point of Memorain was the voice of Ilias, but in their second and now in their third album, we can hear that Ilias has worked really hard with his voice and we have a great improvement to the highest level. Definitely we may hear his great guitar solos and the aggressive guitar riffs, plus the great rhythm section that completes the final result.

It is needless to say more things, because I want to hear again and again their new album and to feel all the things that the band has included in their well worked compositions. A thrash metal assault full of emotions, but in the same time with the right aggression and power.
