Mr. Hubi -for those who do not recall him- has been the singer
of Dreamscape. After he left Dreamscape
he chose the hard road of personal
creation and recently he released
his 3rd personal work. In "Kailash"
there are some very talented musicians
that give breathtaking performances.
What characterizes Hubi is that his
voice is softer than what we are used
to listening to in music something
that it’s not bad, except when the
music is Brutal Black Death. But when
the music is Melodic Progressive Metal,
things seem to roll quite well. In
"Kailash", apart from the wondrous
riffs and solos, and the continuous
alternations in tempo, there are some
great melodic lines and refrains that
for one thing tempt you to sing with
them. The versification is referred
to the myths of the Orient. There
are also musical references from that
part of the word (Tibet, India etc.)
making it even more interesting. I
assume that if the production was
more dynamic and the composing was
more concentrated on riffs we would
be having a much more impressive result.
Bottom Line: An interesting proposal
in the field of Progressive Metal.
Something tells me that we have
even greater things to wait for
in the future.
