Exodus is back and
I'm pretty sure this is one of the
things that mark the year 2004, as
far as the metal community is concerned
(because one more important event
are the Olympic games that will take
place in my country). I must admit
that Exodus was, and still is, among
my favorite bands since my childhood
years and I was mad about their amazing
heavy riffs and intelligent guitar
solos, by the masters Holt and Hunolt,
that made me want to bang my head
endlessly.
The good thing is
that the two-abovementioned elements
remain the main characteristics of
the band and they manage to offer
us another classic Exodus album. I
was pretty sure about that, since
I have faith in Exodus' musical abilities,
so my only concern was about the production
and to be more specific, I was concerned
about who would be sitting behind
the console. However, Nuclear Blast
is a big label and is not joking around
when it comes to this, so they assigned
the job to one of the best new producers.
I'm talking about Andy Sneep. You
can easily understand that the final
outcome exceeded my expectations.
Aren't you convinced
yet about the musical quality, Exodus
manages to deliver with "Tempo
of the Damned"? Then you should
listen to songs like Shroud of Urine
(even though I disagree with the unchristian
lyrics), Tempo of the Damned, Impaler
and so on… The cover of the
album is really exceptional, too.
Before closing, I
have one demand from Exodus: more
albums in a shorter period of time.
Yes my friends, Exodus is back!!!
