Emergency
Gate were created in 1996 by Mario
who plays the bass and by Fabian who
plays the guitar. In 2000 they produced
their first official work, a self-titled
mini album, which sold around 1000
copies. The production in their new
CD that is quite good was made by
Spike Steefkerk (Phil Collins, Def
Leppard). In 2005 August it was selected
by voting "Demo of the Month"
in MetalHeart Magazine and it was
play-listed by some of the biggest
rock radio stations in Germany. I
can’t say that their music impressed
me. A little of old thrash and a little
of new metal combined with separate
melodies and with lot of keyboard
in all of the songs. The whole thing
was pretty enough confusing on my
ears. They have some good ideas, but
they seem to me a little bit confused.
From my subjective point of view I
want them to select a certain kind
of music, because trying to combine
the unmatched kinds of music from
their very first full length CD is
quite dangerous. I think that first
you have to gain a certain amount
of experience and then trying to do
it in all this chaos of countless
productions. And every day you ought
to have something to make you differ
from the others and I think that Emergency
Gate doesn’t have it or at least
they don’t seem to have it. |
