The
one and only -so far- release
of the Estonian progressive metal
band Echosilence is this EP, dated
back to 2005. This is by all means
a very interesting release that went
unnoticed, probably due to the origin
of the band. It is a release that
will fascinate the fans of female
fronted progressive metal, since
the band flirts with the sound of
Aghora, Atrox and The Gathering.
The first two tracks are heavier
and more complex (especially the
opening track "Views on Views"),
presenting excellent pieces of guitar
work, while the rest two tracks adopt
a softer and more melodic approach.
A few discrete electronic elements
give another essence to the tracks,
showing an even more innovative face.
The point is that both sides of the
band are equally interesting and
it is a pity that we haven't
the chance to listen more from them. |
