This is the second full length release for Crystal Tears that come from Thessaloniki, Hellas. They were formed in September '97 and they are moving in epic speed/power metal forms. They have released two demos "Skies of Eternity" on January 1999 and "Promoworks" on July '00 (great jobs both!). I don't have listened to their first full CD "Embrace the Horror", which was released on November '02, but I have formed a very good opinion about them from their two demos. In their new CD "Choirs of Immortal" the cover painting is done by the legendary Joe Petagno. Joe Petagno is the man behind the Motorhead badge "Snuggletooth" (the chained skull). He has also worked for Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Alice Cooper. The mastering procedure is done by Dimitri Liapakis (Mystic Prophecy, Firewind, Chastain, Eldritch etc.) at Prophecy and Music Factory Studios, Kempten, Germany. Their latest live appearance it was opening act as (special guests) for W.A.S.P. in Thessaloniki, 14th October. Their music is not anything new in the metal field, but is performed in energetic and dedicated fashion. The singer is female (Natasa Pandreia) and her voice is setting well enough with the music. Furthermore, very nice solos and catchy rhythms are filling the entire CD. I thing the fans of traditional heavy metal will enjoy Crystal Tears' new CD. We must support this kind of bands that are talented and play the music that we love with passion and enthusiasm!
