It seems that my dear Metal Perspective
editor has some kind of a grudge
against me, that's why he assigned
me with the review of Breschdleng's
self-titled EP. Maybe he thinks that
besides being into hardcore, I am
also a fluent speaker of Swabian,
the southern German dialect Breschdleng's
lyrics are written to.
Ok now, let's
be open-minded for a minute here;
music has - or is supposed to have
- no boundaries, or any other kind
of prejudice. So, what’s
the case here? Breschdleng are an
experienced band, together since
1999, playing metal/hardcore. Their
sound is the typical NY hardcore
sound. It's all very tight, well-delivered,
focusing on the vocals, which serve
the songs righteously.
There isn't anything else to be
said. This is something pretty special,
not because of the music, which is
quite ordinary, although at times
it can be attractive for the dedicated
hardcore fan, but because of the
dialect Breschdleng have chosen to
use. But as you probably know, this
is a free world after all and specialness
ought to be respected. Be open-minded
and give this band a chance. I did,
and have decided that they’re
not my cup of tea. It’s your
turn now. |
