The "Devils
Hall of Fame" was one of the
albums that shacked the last decade.
Not only because of the terrific performances
of the musicians (more specifically
Jorn Lande, who is fascinating) or
for the concept being at least astonishing,
but also for the unique quality of
Finn Zievler’s music. His latest
album titled "Section X"
was recently released and once more
it nailed me down ingeniously.
Once more the concept
is breath taking. Is one about the
intervention a man can make to his
brain, giving an excellent example
(detail discovery will doubtlessly
immobilize you and most important
it will make you think again that
is to say that it imposes progressive
metal)
The performances are perfect. The
guitarists’ presence assists
to it as well.
What troubled me
before I even listen to section X
was the withdrawal of Jorn and the
performance of his understudy Kelly
Karpenter. Believe me when I say he
wasn’t bad at all, having an
extraordinary charismatic voice that
reminds a lot of Jorn, working mostly
to handle the hard undertaking (you
will understand what I am talking
about as soon as you listen to it).
The music of Beyond
Twilight insists on having the same
features as the "Devils Hall
of Fame" working even more on
the details in moments where you listen
to the CD in admiration recognizing
that something very great is coming
out of the resonator. Dark atmosphere,
theatrical, with transitions of classical,
but also oriental music. Do not imagine
it being something nerveless and mostly
experimental instead of metal. Guitar
riffs are changing one by one and
Finns’ keys are shivering. In
conclusion, it is one of the best
albums I have heard in the field of
Metal.
Bottom line: The marker here could
be greater, but who knows. Maybe Finns’
next game with mind will surpass even
"Section X". I am looking
for the second best album of the year.
The best is called "Section X".
