If I had the opportunity
to fulfill some wishes (usually three)
I would like to be able to detect
the differences between the neo-classical
guitar heroes, as my fellow Giannis
Hatzis does. To me they all sound
the same. And what should I write
for this Japanese band and they guitar
hero (Katsu Ohta) behind it? That
he can't play? He surely can. That
he can't write good melodies? He has
composed some good ones. That he hasn't
good production? Almost perfect. Then
what?
The problem is that
he is a clone of Yngwie J. Malmsteen's
influential style and that it's so
boring to listen to this cd, because
you know what you 're going to listen
to in the next few seconds. There
aren't any surprises. I don't doubt
that this may fill the expectations
of the creators, but I can't find
a simple reason why anyone should
buy this and not the original. Once
again… How the hell do some
people recognize each of these bands?
I can't think of a way. The singer
is also a major negative point in
this release. I hardly recognized
that he was singing in English.
They should re-think
their aims and their objective as
a band and to leave all these pompous
expressions and very impressive cover
artworks. I am very positive that
this isn't the beginning of a new
legend, but for their own sake they
should find their own personal way,
before they end up as a new tragedy. |
