Although I thought
that Anyone's Daughter is another
new discovery by Inside Out, the premiere
progressive rock/metal label of our
times, this German outfit has recently
rejoined forces after a long period
of absence from the scene.
From the perspective
of an open-minded listener (and not
necessarily into metal), 'Wrong'
is a progressive album. Taken influences
from 70's art rock, psychedelia, jazz
and even classic rock, adding many
poppy elements to fill the pallet,
this band definitely knows no boundaries
to its' expression. Unfortunately,
they didn't succeed to draw my interest,
mainly because of the total absence
of heavy donated riffs and powerful
approach that will possibly give them
a more modern musical behavior.
I do respect the
new generation of prog rock artists
and it's true that there are a few
examples where the representatives
of this genre are still giving us
a good dose of pleasure for our appetite
but let me ask you something: bring
them next to the offerings of Enchant,
Tiles, Arena for a minute and then
you'll realize that there is no chance
to stand with pride in a fair comparison
or competition…
Another mediocre
release from Inside Out, exclusively
destined to satisfy the needs of open
minded prog fans and obviously a case
of a band that every die hard metal
listener out there must avoid… |
