M. Andritsopoulos
is another worshipper of the six strings
goddess of heavy metal. This particular
recording that he kindly sent me,
is including 14 compositions that
sees the young Greek guitarist trying
to develop a characteristic neoclassical
way of performing, very close to what
Malmsteen's up to, especially when
he released those monumental albums
under the RISING FORCE's moniker.
Hopefully, the classical training
of Michael gives him the ability to
explore more musical fields and nothing
can blame him for copying his biggest
influence, but having a soulful yet
dynamic approach to everything that
he's involving, he easily proves his
talent in every composition.
Unfortunately (and
this is probably the main drawback
of this demo/cd…) the sound
is at least very bad in the entire
recording and don't leave space for
the guitarist to express all his abilities.
I think that Michael should take care
immediately of this subject if he
truly wants to break the narrow borders
of Greece and seek for success by
approaching foreign labels. Talking
about the present, it's nevertheless
to say that the demo I've got in my
hands has a lot of memorable moments
which underline the will of a young
musician and I only wish his next
step will own a better production.
A fact that is at least necessary
for his future career… |
