Do you miss AC/DC’s
hard tunes? Do you live and breathe
for "dirty", "nasty"
or whatever you may call it hard rock?
Are you desperately looking for a
new band that can fill the gap, better
yet lead the way and maybe evolve
the genre? Well search no more. 286’s
EP "Profiled" is proof enough
to declare them as potential hard
rock leaders. Some will definitely
say that I am exaggerating. Many will
think I am crazy or musically deficient
(even though craziness would be a
personal salvation at this stage of
my life, those who know will understand
that unfortunately I am not crazy).
I just know what I heard and what
I heard is a fine example of dirty
hard rock, inspired, as I foretold,
in its majority from the kings of
the genre AC/DC (and not only).
Do you need me to
say more? Isn’t already clear
that we are dealing with a five track
EP that includes all the important
rock elements and even more? I am
talking about filthy and harsh, mostly
up-tempo riffage, assimilating elements
from many rock branches (say rock’n’roll
for instance), preserving at the same
time a solid hard rock core. The harsh
and screaming vocals that escort the
guitar delivery and the uplifting
rhythm section form an excellent "concrete"
rock constitution, while the appropriate
"dirty" clear production
helps you receive five dozes of sonic
adrenaline in the best possible (not
to say harmless) way!
Unfortunately the
short duration of the EP can absolutely
quench our thirst for hard rock, but
don’t cry yet. From what I know,
they are already working on their
next offering, so just be a little
patient. I just wish it will come
out very soon, because the only two
ways to fight the foot-pain, caused
by the boots while standing in the
sentry box is a cigarette and good
music (and let’s keep this between
us, because the martial court will
be cruel, if I am caught doing this
while on duty).
