John Wetton to be among members of Asia and Yes joining Roger Dean for special event in San Francisco!

Two of the most famous and successful rock bands of all time, Yes and Asia, will be in San Francisco to play a concert together at the Warfield Theatre on July 2. To celebrate this historic San Francisco concert, members of the two groups will appear in person at the San Francisco Art Exchange, America's premier gallery of the original art of Rock and Roll, during a major exhibition of the art of Roger Dean, who will also be personally on-hand to meet with fans and collectors of the gallery. Roger Dean is the revered artist who has painted nearly all of the two groups' album covers over a period of nearly 40 years. Blockbuster original paintings will be on display including the original painting of Yes' Relayer album. Also included is a seminal Dean study for Asia's Alpha album. More than 30 original works of art by Roger Dean will be on display in the gallery during the event.

The exhibition will be held on two consecutive days: Wednesday, July 1st from 5PM to 8 PM and Thursday July 2nd from 1:30PM to 3:30 PM. Members of the groups have agreed to attend either or both events as their schedules permit. Brazilian metallers STORMENTAL launched a video clip for "In Front of You", the first single of their forthcoming CD/DVD, which shall be released between September and October. The album is a soundtrack made for "Perception of the Other" show, created in a partnership with Siedler Cia. de Dança de Florianópolis (Siedler dance company), mixing heavy metal and contemporary music, which won FUNARTE's Klaus Vianna award.

According to the band, "'Perception of the Other' is based in human perceptions and 'In Front of You' is about searching distance places, which, sometimes, are just in front of you."

GALAHAD are proud to announce the re-release of 'Other Crimes and Misdemeanours II and III' as a very smart re-mastered limited edition double CD digipak.

This latest re-issue from our friends at OSKAR Productions includes approximately 40 minutes of additional music from the archives and has been beautifully packaged to appeal to all fans of progressive rock as well as diehard completists.

CD1 contains 'Other Crimes and Misdemeanours II' (GHCD5 1991) plus a previously unreleased twenty-three minute medley used to accompany a Guy Fawkes Night firework display in Ringwood, Hampshire, England on the 5th November 1990, followed by an instrumental version of 'Lady Messiah' from the same concert.

CD2 contains 'Other Crimes and Misdemeanours III' (GHCD7 2001) plus a nine minute song 'The Pleasure House' which was originally included on a Dutch multi-band concept album 'The Reading Room' back in 2000.

Underground heavy metal illustrator, Mark Riddick, reveals his new Web site overhaul, www.riddickart.com. The new site features an interactive blog-style format complete with gallery, Web store, downloads, and links. The new Web site was designed by award-winning graphic artist, Greg Comstock, www.gregcomstock.com.

Brazillian group Hazy Hamlet, active since 1999, has finally released its debut - titled Forging Metal. The album is totally independent, was recorded and produced by the band and mixed/mastered by singer Arthur Migotto. Its sound embraces the traditional heavy metal, turned to the 80s, and the band worked hard to achieve a vintage sonority with valve amps timbres, punchy bass drums, and a lot of effects, rather than the dry sound of contemporary productions.

The magnificent cover artwork is signed by professional illustrator Celso Mathias, and presents an acrylic painting of Nordic god Odin forging a sword, accompanied by his ravens Hugin and Munin.

Devilish feast on the bank of the river: three days of metallic uproar, headlined by SEPULTURA, and head banging spree together with the grands of metal scene KEEP OF KALESSIN, CODE, SINISTER in the DEVILSTONE OPEN AIR, also featuring Lithuanian metal elite and other extreme acts...

It is the debuting edition of the Lithuanian metal festival, oriented to foreign audiences as well as to the local ones. Twenty bands are confirmed for three concerts. The variety of metal styles as well as bands’ geography is wide enough – from Brazil through Europe to Jordan, not bypassing the traditional metal music nest – Scandinavia, for sure.

The Devilstone Open Air will take place in one of the most impressive corners of the Baltic’s – small but cute, cosy and historical Anyksciai town, offering much authentic sightseeing, as well as modern amusement. Find alternative/extreme culture in the context of local ancient heritage – this is the festival’s concept, inspired by Anyksciai town legend: “...a devil had been carrying a huge rock above the town, aiming to crush the church, but he failed to complete the mission as a cock scared him away at the break of dawn, so the stone was thrown down wherever to its fate...”

The festival mission is far reaching: beside the core of it all – three big metal concerts – it will offer a rich cultural program:
- Night Rockteques: Old-school rock music program after the concerts till early morning.
- Volleyball matches to win a Devil Stone as a trophy.
- Specially arranged excursion round the town for those not into sports but into culture.

“Pleištas”, the first album of Šiauliai black metal band ARGHARUS, will come out on June 6th this year. The album will be released in 6 panel DIGI format under Inferna Profundus Records flag.

After quite enough time since LUCTUS and ARGHARUS split release, the band has taken a rather different direction, and to its listeners introduces a musical creation of a new concept. The music as well as the idea has significantly changed, what can surprise the constant fans of the band or become a new discovery. The former creation, compared to the latter work, seems like a youthful play, folded by hardly perceived ideas. „Pleištas“ is a new path of the band and a reached musical conception, which was not built, but born naturally, in the process of intense work of searching and creating in studio. Destruction or escape from the preceding has not been a purposeful aim. All turned out naturally, as a result of a process, probably familiar to majority of bands.

The album consists of 8 creations, nurtured for more than a year during rehearsals. Album recording has been executed in Šiauliai studio UNITEDZEROS. Although the studio was not considered seriously at first, the final result, however, surprised and did not disappoint. The quality of the album recording should satisfy even the most sharp-eared listeners. Album design was trusted to Badger Art studio, which exhibited interesting solutions and created design, specifically answering the band’s new concept. ARGHARUS has no plans for album presentation concerts, the only unique performance will occur at “Kilkim žaibu” open-air.

Cyprus-based Pitch Black Records is pleased to support the upcoming MetaLmorphosis Festival taking place in Nicosia, Cyprus, on Friday June 12th, 2009.

The German Metal Band IVORY NIGHT has entered the studio with producer Ronny Lang to record their 3rd full-lenght album. On October 26th, 2008 AC/DC played their first show in 5 years. Dedicated fans from all over the world traveled to the small industrial town of Wilkes-Barre, PA to be there.

A few select fans were chosen to be featured in this documentary. Their stories reflect the commitment and passion of what it means to be a true Acca Dacca fan over the years.

Join them in celebrating one of the last great rock n roll bands of a generation. There will never be another band like them.

--Background
The AC/DC Rock n Roll Fannation project began last September, when Sony launched a nationwide contest to select fans that would serve as caravan leaders from their hometowns. In exchange for leading the caravans to a secret AC/DC concert in Pennsylvania they would not only receive free tickets to the show, but the chance to be featured in the webseries. All they had to do was film their experiences and pass the footage along to us.

To be considered, contestants were asked to upload videos that told us why they thought they were AC/DC’s biggest fans. This gave us a sense of who they were as people, and demonstrated their proficiency with a camera. We chose the eight contest winners from cities including Knoxville, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Detroit and New York. Places where there are high concentrations of AC/DC fans.

Once selected, the eight caravan leaders were asked to meet fans at their local Walmart’s parking lot at a designated hour. Each leader was given 10 invites (4 people per invite) to be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Any fan that made it there in time had the chance to join in the caravan to Wilkes-Barre, PA. All in all, we had about 200 people participate in the caravan. Driving as far as 20 hours away to be a part of this.

All caravaners were required to arrive in Wilkes-Barre the night before the secret show. We conducted interviews with the fans and sponsored some events where everyone could mingle and get to know each other. Being Saturday night, what better way to pre-party for the secret show than a little AC/DC karaoke? On Sunday, the morning of the concert, people starting arriving in the Wachovia Arena parking lot as early as 8 hours before show time for some tailgating fun. As the sun got lower, people got drunker. Only 3,500 fans were invited to this show, so Everyone felt like they were part of something special- a part of AC/DC history. Sony Music had some additional contests for winners to attend the show, and buses were arriving by the minute with more hoards of drunken fans.

Our caravaners remained connected and tightly-knit throughout the entire event. They created bonds and friendships which last to this day, and hopefully will continue for a long time to come.

Metal Mind Productions will release John Wetton's “Agenda/Amorata/ Amata” box in late May. This legendary vocalist, guitarist, bass player and producer is known from his co-operation with King Crimson, Asia, Roxy Music, UK, Uriah Heep, Phil Manzanera and Geoff Downes - just to name a few - as well as from his solo projects.

This is the official statement for Sylvan's new album by the band:

"Since the beginning of this year we have been working intensively on our seventh studio-album. Now we think finally it΄s time to bring you up to date!

Meanwhile all songs have been composed, all arrangements have been made, all instruments have been recorded, all lyrics were written and all singing was recorded. So we are nearly finished- still to do the final mix.

While our producer Jens Lόck is already preparing the mix-session we musicians are listening to the rough-mix, being very excited, and enjoying the first overall impression. In this stadium of the production does it show whether our ideas and visions have become reality and whether the songs do harmonize in a whole on the album. Let me tell you this much: At the moment we are all being very euphoric!!!

As our fans you know that we don΄t like to release songs beforehand- as long as we don΄t have the final mix. But what we want to reveal today is the official name of the new album.

The name of our seventh studio-album is: FORCE OF GRAVITY

As far as music is concerned "Force of Gravity" has become one of our versatile works! Once again we try to strike a new path while not losing what defines our music. Therefore friends of the classical SYLVAN-epos will get their share al well as those who long for a experimental band.

By the way- "Force of Gravity" is neither a concept-album nor is their a superior theme. Each song is completed in itself and deals with problems of our times.

"The decision has been made together with Tom. There are no hard feelings between us, we're still friends and I hope we will drink something together in the future. We have recorded 2 albums together, we have all learned a lot during that time, and I hope that Tomek will join some band very soon."

OSMIUM, a brazilian prog/power metal band, was formed in 2005, only playing covers on that time. In the next few years the group composed their first own songs, and with the development of their musical identity, in the end of 2008 they presented themselves as DAYDREAM XI.

With this new name the quintet formed by Tiago Masseti (vocals), Marcelo Pereira (guitars), Cαssio de Assis (guitars), Tomαs Gonzaga (bass) and Maurνcio Goldstein (drums) will release soon their first EP, which is being produced by the guitarist Renato Osorio (Magician, Scelerata, Fighterlord). Karmic Link are happy to announce the recruitment of new guitarist/bassist Evan Hensley who hails from Nashville, Tennessee, known as Music City USA and “The Third Coast” for its prominence in the music industry. Evan will soon begin laying down tracks with his six-string for the as-of-yet-untitled second Karmic Link album, which will feature 11 new tracks composed of a fresh myriad of styles. The album features a conceptual storyline, conceived by Stathis Kassios and Evan Hensley, about the power of the modern corporate media as witnessed through the eyes of two original characters. The mix of the album will take place in Athens, Greece, over summer 2009, as Stathis leaves Sweden for his hometown to put the finishing touches on the new Karmic experience.

Athera ( Pal Mathieson) - Vocalist with Norwegian band SUSPERIA was rushed into Akershus Universitetssykehus Hospital in Lørenskog, Norway on the morning of March 9th suffering from acute stomach pains and heavy bleeding. Initial tests revealed that the singer had suffered a heart attack caused by a damaged blood vessel. Athera is currently in the intensive care unit under close observation, while further tests are carried out. He is expected to remain hospitalised for the foreseeable future. At this moment future plans including touring commitments remain unchanged, until a full diagnosis of his condition has been confirmed.

Athera recently completed vocals on SUSPERIA's 5th studio album, which is due for an early summer release through the bands new label Candlelight Records.
The band worked continuously throughout 2008 on the album which Athera described as "going back to the early days with the melancholic riffing and dark emotional vocals and coming all the way through to today, with a perfect blend of everything Susperia has been and become".
