Dear
John, thank you very much for speaking
to our webzine. I would like to congratulate
you on your first demo.
I’d like
to thank Metal Perspective for inviting
Sacram. We highly appreciate your
support on the emerging technical
Greek Metal scene.
Can you give us
a short view of your thoughts about
it? Are you satisfied with the impact
it made and the feedback it received?
Sacram
are very satisfied with the current
progress of "Far Away". The
feedback we received from both the
press and the community was overwhelming.
Our greatest challenge is that the
upcoming debut album must live up
to the expectations that "Far
Away" created.
What is
your personal opinion about the
outcome of "Far
Away"?
"Far Away" is
a product of a long-lasting experimentation
process and combines technical elements
with raw powerful death metal rage.
We are also quite happy with the
production, which is solid and clear,
and conveys a genuine "live" sensation.
We strongly believe that the constant
listener will eventually discover
the hidden complexity in our music
that lies below the surface.
How do
you believe you differentiate from
other bands in the same genre?
We
believe that we have managed to create
a genuine and recognizable sound
that incorporates many and diverse
elements from foreign music genres.
The spectrum of our influences spreads
from Pink Floyd and ethnic themes
to Opeth and Death.

What are the themes
you use in your lyrics?
We’d like to think the lyrics
as an integral part of our music.
Sometimes they drift away from the
classic notion of lyrics and take
the form of obscure thoughts that
must be combined with the music in
order to be deciphered and understood.
How important do you think that
are lyrics (and texts) in an era
of image?
Lyrics are very important when they
align with concept of the music. Then,
it’s like a voice that speaks
directly to the subconscious and
the soul.
You are about to play a live
with other Greek metal bands in
Underworld. Do you like playing
live and what are your best and
worst experiences from such live
appearances?
Fortunately we have only good experiences
from our live performances. In fact
we love being on stage and becoming
one with our crowd.
Do you believe you
are ready to play as support act
for a bigger and more famous band?
What band would you like to be?
Sacram
are in a great shape and ready to
undertake every challenge. It
would have been very exciting for
us to play side by side with major
bands that greatly influence the
metal scene.
Though it seems a common
piece I would like to know what you
thing about the Greek metal scene.
Do you see some serious progress
that might work positively for you?
The
Greek metal scene made a huge leap
forward in the last years. There
is a new generation of Greek Bands
out there that produce professional,
high quality works.
Do you think
that social network websites, like
MySpace, have boosted the underground
music and provide new means of promotion?
Are such services, alternatives against
closed and controlled publication
and promotion means?
Sacram have good faith in
the new media. This is evident in
our new completely remade ΜySpace
Home Page (www.myspace.com/sacrammusic)
Do
you believe you are ready to record
a full length release? In general,
what are your future plans?
We plan to release our debut full
length album within 2008.
Dear John
thank you again for sharing your
time with us. We wish you all the
best for the future.
Thank you. Keep
up the good work! |
