Hi guys, first of all congratulations
for your newest album. So far how
is the reaction for this?
Thanks. The reaction
to the album "Nightly Ray"
is very positive, although we seem
to split the metalworld with our music.
Some journalists are a little confused
because we offer many metal genres
from hardrock and powermetal to progressive
black and much more. Some magazines
say, that we play deathmetal, others
say we play powermetal and so on.
But they have something in common:
Emergency Gate do their own way without
any idols - it’s a new
kind of metal .
"Emergency
Gate", you know that some times
this gate is a life saver, why you
choose these two words for your band?
Oh that's a question,
which many people are asking me. First
the name was just an idea and meant
nothing, it only sounded good. But
with the years, the name Emergency
Gate gets more important - if
you listen to the lyrics, you will
hear some tips what you can do in
difficult situations - a Emergency
Gate for everyone ?
Your newest
album released through Universal,
a really big label, so far are you
satisfied with their help?
Yeah, thats right,
Universal is really big, we work with
a division of them: The Electric Co.
located in the Netherlands. We are
happy to be on this label. The guys
believe in us and that feels great.
We had some offers from other labels,
but the guys gave us a fair and amazing
deal and thats the reason we signed
with them. One of our biggest successes
was the signing wit a label from the
US even before we released in Europe

We can say
that musically you walk in the commercial
rock music, do you agree and if not
what is your music direction through
your album?
Sorry, but I can’t
agree with you Antonis. We play our
own music. We can not say we play
rock music or power metal, because
the members of Emergency Gate listen
to different genres of metal ... we
take the best of the genres -
I think it's to easy to say we play
commercial rock music - we want
to give people who buy our CD something
new - to close the ring -
for example one listens to power metal
and the other listens to NU Rock.
The power metaler say Nu Rock is shit
and the Nu Rock freak maybe thinks
the same about power metal. If you
listen to our CD the powermetaler
say great and the Nu rock fan too.
That’s that what we want -
it's difficult but possible to cross
modern metal music with oldschool.
Tell us few
things about the very good cover that
you have choose for your newest work.
Our cover was made
by a famous artist called Georg "Schlumpf"
Huber from Bavaria. He already won
some of the biggest artist prices.
The reason why we choose this cover
was that we wanna give a kind of message
to the people. The Cover contains
two rules: Don't play with the supernatural,
it exists and it's not for playing.
... but even if surrounded by darkness,
a single belief will cast a ray of
light... that's "Nightly Ray".
If someone’s
comes to a live show of Emergency
Gate, what he/she will see?
If someone will
come to a Emergency Gate concert,
they can enjoy a great professional
show. We give 120% on stage to satisfay
the visitors of the concert. They
will sing with us and we all together
will start a big party which everyone
will remember. For us it's the gratest
pleasure to be on the stage and we
do everything so people feel the same.
Do you have
plans for live gigs in the near future?
Yeah, sure we will
play as support for Axxis, than we
want to play some gigs in Austria
, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg
and Switzerland. And we are very much
looking forward to play some club
gigs in the US, where our label is
planning our release in early fall
this year.
How you will
promote your album?
On label side they
do all they can to promote the album
via press, online and radios. But
to play live and to get in contact
with the fans is at least as important
to promote the CD and our merchandise
stuff.
In few words,
how was your time when you recorded
this album?
We had a lot of fun
to be in big studios, but on the other
side it was a hard work 14 - 18 hours
a day and this for a long time. Less
sleep, fast food, but happy that a
dream is going true. Especially as
we had the honour to work with one
of the best producers: Spike Streefkerk
who already worked with a couple of
international bigstars!
As far as
the new songs, how it works with you.
I mean someone brings an idea and
then you work altogether with this
or you just jam and then you will
have some new tunes?
Usually, someone
writes lyrics and than he comes to
the us and says: Look, here is my
new creation; mostly he had still
the music in his mind. Sometimes we
create some new parts. But if we go
to the studio I?m still filling the
songs with ideas.
If I will
push the play button on your CD player
what I will hear?
WOW that is a difficult
question , I hear so many Bands sometimes
In Flames, sometimes Evergrey, Edguy,
Bon Jovi, Guns n Roses - that’s
a thing of my feeling - but always
good stuff.
What is your
wildest dream for Emergency Gate?
The wildest dream
for Emergency Gate is the same of
all musicians: to play in big arenas
around the world. But I think the
most important thing is to have fun
with music and the fans at the shows.
So even playing in front of may be
200 or 300 fans can bring you a lot
of fun because of the close contact.
Thank you
guys for your time and close the interview
as you want.
I think its not usual
to say that, but these words are for
all fans, partners, friends, parents,
our spirits etc. Thank you all - without
you we couldn't start our way - Thanks
very much to you all and keep on rockin?
