The End is a label
I trust from its very beginning, when
its owner began with a handful of
bands and a little experience. Luckily
it grew, having its logo on very important
releases, always with a delicate musical
approach. Therefore, my expectations
for T.E.B. had been huge. Obviously
an act hailing from the other side
of the Atlantic (Canada precisely),
this quintet crave for a part of the
lion's share in nowadays'
US metal by mixing up razor-sharp
guitars in the Swedish vein, some
NWOAHM influences and kinda "arcane"
attitude in contrary with other more
straight-forward colleagues of theirs.
They thrash a lot, got melodies and
intense melodic hooks and tend to
be Americanized with some sublime
moments in other words. The beginning
of this album is straight-forward,
jumping from one song to another we
can feel the wind of change like a
breeze above our shoulders, but not
bothering at all, the quintessence
of the album isn't altered much
and so is the interest of it - which
I'd say remains at the same
level only that after the middle I
can spot down that in general this
band lacks of something more in their
songwriting. |
