Five years in music business is a long time. A hiatus of this length can be disastrous to a band's career...
But Polish industrial metal band StrommoussHeld are brushing aside such beliefs, with their single "Connective Tissue", precursor of the band's forthcoming album, to be released sometime in 2010. And they give various reasons to look forward to their full release.
"Connective Tissue" kicks off with the atmospheric piano notes of "Long Ago Gone". It's a creepy opening that leads to a sort of oriental bridge, before the brutal, thunderous climax. And then creepiness, bleakness, and darkness step back right in... A great tune, six minutes in length, yet it leaves you wanting more.
And more is what you get with the next track, "Connective Tissue", with its great bassline. Things are more straightforward here, all instruments in full force, programming and live instrumentation combined pretty tight. Great vocals lead to an almost anthemic chorus.
Last but not least, StrommoussHeld are offering us a Laibach cover, a proof that this is not only a talented band, but a band with great musical taste too. This is a great comeback. Welcome back guys. |
