Another quite profit release by a band's own pockets, this mCD even includes a video clip. These lads hail from the south of Norway (still too north from us!) and present a mixture of death metal with deathcore, the American-oriented way. There are 6 compositions in total of well-produced brutal music that sometimes brings to mind the riffage of the latest works of Malevolent Creation & Divine Empire. Quite good is the song structure for a new band, the lyrics are hateful and balancing (like the music itself) between death metal and its ‘core amalgams. Really not my cup of blood but not far from being one, there's decency in this product in all terms and many head-gripping tunes to push you head bang, a lot of variety (including a couple of black metal orientated climaxes) also. There's nothing innovative or thrilling but definitely Second Shadow is a band to pay attention to as there aren't many new bands in our shores displaying such music and avoid the worn-out patterns the new scene of American metal is using.
