England
has such acquaintance with black metal
as with basketball! Only after a high
bribery you could include an English
black metal band among the best ones
around the glob. These few words are
mentioned so that blacksters can get
some historical awareness of their
favorite musical genre, as neither
Cradle of Filth nor Anaal Nathrakh
are the bands with the highest artistic
level to show.
Primitive Graven
Image consist of two English brothers,
if I don't make a mistake, and
I suppose that, if they were asked,
they would answer that they have a
necro/raw black metal band and that
they are great devotees of Darkthrone.
I am not sure about the truth of these
two hypothetical statements, yet the
whole album lacks remarkable riffs
except for some nice minimal choirs
in the first track, which brought
to my mind Burzum. Moreover, the band
uses lots of heavy/thrash elements,
but unfortunately the result is nowhere
really interesting. I suggest unreservedly
that you should look for the Swedish
band called IXXI and forget these
guys. Not even aurea mediocritas!
