Impressive, aggressive, gut-wrenching!!! That's the first words that come to mind after listening to Nine Eleven's sophomore release. I can't really compare it with their debut "Use your Disillusion" since I haven't heard a single note from that one, but nonetheless "City of Quartz" is nothing short of a melodic hardcore dynamite.
In your face hardcore sound, with many melodic parts, some punk references and the necessary moshing moments, is the French quintet's proposal and musical direction. Add vocalist Romain's aggressive delivery and you have the essence of new school hardcore. No wonder they claim to be one of the most passionate new school hardroce bands originated from Europe. If you ask me they have every right to do so.
Honestly speaking, I'm not into hardcore stuff that much (if not at all) so if it suits my needs imagine the effect will have on a die-hard hardcore fan. Just check them out on the digipack version or the vinyl+CD combo release. You'll definitely worship them.
