Loits are from Estonia
and they have been existing since
1996. Some notes of the Nailboard
Records compare the band to Enslaved.
Personally speaking, they brought
to my mind the Germans Helrunar,
without their violent elevations,
and also the Norwegians Khold (besides
the musical resemblance, the mother
tongue of the group sounds like Norse).
Although it is quite clear that the
band members are well versed in black
metal, nevertheless they don’t
compose remarkable riffs. I liked
most some epic and nostalgic parts,
which unfortunately are drowned in
the endless mid-tempo riffing. Loits’ music
itself seems inferior to their general
artistic intuition, as it is expressed
for instance through the photo session.
One thing is for sure, more attempt
is demanded so that their "flank'n'roll"
can earn listener's admiration. |
