The Greeks Fallen
Within seem to be working tenaciously
enough, considering the short interval
between these brand new compositions
and their first effort. According
to their words these 3-tracks promo
is just a small sample of what it's
to come pretty soon. To be more specific,
the guys are actually working on their
debut full-length release, but better
check the interview they gave us for
more info on the subject. Let's
just stick to the music for the time
being…
Listening to "Promo
2005" you understand that the
band is ready to take this step for
one thing and those of you that have
heard their first demo can clearly
notice the obvious progress they've
made. They've worked harder
on the compositional aspect this time
and I'm sure they'll get
to taste the fruits of their hard
work pretty soon, while the production
is very good and proves once again
that Fallen Within's "metal"
minds go like clockwork, taking one
careful step after another.
…And now for
the hard part. The "this"
metal label I have to put on them.
Well, they obviously move somewhere
near melodic death metal or if you
prefer NWOSDM, or just Swedish-like
death metal or whatever, but definitely
melodic and definitely death metal.
I'm aware that Northern Europe
is filled up with bands alike, but
after listening to this promo stuff
I am positive that there's room
for one more, Southern this time.
Same goes for your private collection
and all labels out there, looking
for fresh blood. I think this sextet
deserves the chance of a decent worldwide
promotion and if they have it, they'll
certainly amaze us all. A strong asset
of this promo is Bob Katsionis'
participation on the keyboards.
Bottom-line:
Something's telling me that
I'm witnessing the birth of
a big band, that's hailing from
my country. They just have to stay
focused and keep working hard, following
a methodical way of thinking. I'm
anxiously waiting for their next step
and for what I can tell, it might
be the one that leads at the threshold
of "Dreamland".
